The course connects three layers: money and monetary policy (what money is, how central banks set and transmit interest rates), the financial system (why intermediaries exist and what problem each type of institution solves), and — the core of the course — bank management (how a bank runs its balance sheet: interest-rate risk, liquidity, credit and capital, under regulation). Armenian regulation (the CBA framework and Regulation 2) is the applied jurisdiction throughout, benchmarked against Basel III, and real failures — Silicon Valley Bank, Credit Suisse, Northern Rock — show what happens when these principles are ignored. Practical emphasis includes a workshop on how banks build the interest rate on a loan and a group project analyzing a real Armenian bank.
